Constellations in Metz
Experience a brand-new event in Metz with “Constellations”, a total of 400 encounters and events combining digital arts and heritage in the form of a multidisciplinary summer cultural calendar. One of the highlights is Lux Animae – light of the soul – a monumental projection mapping display by Yann Nguema, artist and ambassador of the Festival of Lights of Lyon, that embellishes the façade of Metz’s gothic Saint-Étienne Cathedral.

Another piece, the Astera arborescence on Place d’Armes, created by TILT, is an intriguing silver plant reflecting the brilliance of daylight, and at night becomes a spellbinding creature with a cloud of coloured beams of light diffused from its core. Also, on Boulevard Poincaré, is a show featuring video projections on a wall of water with coloured, moving water jets entitled “Dancing Fountains”, inspired by the impressionists.

Rendez-vous Place Stanislas in Nancy
Every summer evening, Rendez-vous Place Stanislas takes over the splendid UNESCO World Heritage site and revisits the history and heritage of Lorraine. A spectacular metamorphosis, with a quarter of the show updated every year. In 2017, Stanisław Leszczyński invites the public to his “Dream of Light”. The show also includes a new segment on the theme of “Lorraine Without Borders”, a prelude to two exhibitions opening 7 October in Nancy: “It’s our History!” at the Ducal Palace – Lorraine Museum and “The Colours of the Orient” at Nancy’s Fine Arts Museum. An invitation to fantasy and poetry.

Theatre of Water at the Château de Lunéville
Theatre of Water is a musical and visual event combining water ballets, music and magical images. Every summer evening, at nightfall, the show welcomes visitors around the great pond in Bosquets Park at the Château de Lunéville. Depending on the day, two new shows are on offer: the 350th celebration of the birth of Germain Boffrand and an aquatic symphony honouring the musical works of the Age of Enlightenment. The first is paired with an exhibition and event, “Lunéville and Germain Boffrand (1667-1754): the palace revealed”, on display in the restored areas around the chapel and dedicated to the prestigious architect.

Ville de Toul

Toul and its room of wonders
The town of Toul puts on a sound and light show honouring summer evenings. In 2017, city hall shines in the spotlight with a fabulous combination of architecture and plants. On the rear facade of this former Episcopal palace, in an unexpected garden setting, a cabinet of curiosities opens its doors to scenes inspired by the history of Toul. The show is created by Damien Fontaine, a composer and director from Nancy, known for his monumental creations.
